A brief history.

Pomona, originally known as Cornbrook Strawberry Gardens, is a lesser known area of Manchester, located just a few tram stops away from Salford Quays.

Branded the ‘lost island of Manchester’, Pomona was once home to botanical gardens and the Royal Pomona Palace during the industrial revolution.

Previously a hub of entertainment in Manchester, Pomona later became docklands until it was deserted in the 1970’s. Sitting as an area of wasteland for many years, Pomona became somewhat forgotten about.

A new era.

As part of a regeneration scheme of Pomona Island by Peel L&P, X1 has delivered a brand new development to the rental market.

X1 Manchester Waters will be the first step to injecting life back into the area. The project will look to create a community and put Pomona back on the map, where it belongs.

Phase 1 is due to open its doors on 30th April 2020 and will offer Studios, 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments for rental.
