The South Pennine Water Trail
This gorgeous trail starts and ends at Hollingworth Lake and allows you to take in the sights of the amazing Rochdale Canal. Perfect for those who aren’t keen on undertaking a mammoth walk, the trail stretches just 5 miles.
Fletcher Moss
Located in South Manchester, Fletcher Moss is the perfect winter walk. The botanical gardens and shrubbery make for an idyllic weekend stroll. Dog-friendly pub The Didsbury is just a stone’s throw away and does a delicious Sunday Roast to finish off the day.
Worsley Village
A 3 mile walk through Worsley where you can wander around the scenic village and explore its rich heritage. Stop off at the Bridgewater Canal and stumble along to Worsley Woods for a change of scenery. The village has plenty of traditional pubs and coffee shops for a spot of post-walk grub.
Chorlton Ees
Chorlton Ees Nature Reserve is the perfect place to escape the city. Full of meadows and picturesque lakes, this trail will have you wandering along the banks of the River Mersey. Stop off for a drink at Jackson’s Boat, a gorgeous traditional pub, to round up the day.
