X1’s Top Manchester Must Do’s – Post Lockdown!

Okay, call us biased, but here at X1 we just love Manchester. Music, footie, amazing food, unforgettable nights out in the Northern Quarter – what’s not to like, right?

So let’s hop into the time machine, we’re going to fast forward a few months and count down the top seven must do’s in our fantastic city, when lockdown is just a distant memory. Ready?!

7. Get mixing and shaking with a cocktail making class at The Alchemist in Media City

Feeling active? If wakeboarding, windsurfing and kayaking float your boat (pun definitely intended!) then pack your trunks and goggles and head over to the Quays. If the sun is shining, it is definitely the place to be.

5. Dance ‘til dawn at O2 Victoria Warehouse

If you miss a boogie as much as we do, this one’s for you. Big names such as Chase & Status, Becky Hill and Scooter (yes, throwback alert!) are set to take to the stage this year. So get the pre-drinks in, dust off your dancing shoes and get ready to party the night away.

4. Prove your putting skills at Junkyard Golf

How do you fancy a round or two of crazy golf with a drink in hand? We sure do! With circus, disco and jungle themed courses and great value eat, drink and play packages, it’s guaranteed to be a hole in one.

3. Enjoy a spot of tapas and a jug of sangria at Porta

Think patatas bravas, squid and aioli and Iberica seared pork. Are your taste buds tingling yet? With plenty of outdoor seating and tucked away in a charming little square, it’s more Malaga than Manchester! If you are lucky enough to live in our Grade II listed building, X1 Town Hall, it is literally bang outside of your front door. Perfecto!

2. Explore the streets of the Northern Quarter and get lost in the maze that is Afflecks

Full to the brim with quirky stores, hidden bars and independent eateries, the Northern Quarter has something for everyone. In the heart of it all, you will stumble upon Afflecks, a four-storey labyrinth of stalls and shops. Anime, plants, clothing, homeware, furniture, sculptures – you name it, you will find it here.

1. Tour the world-famous football stadiums

Are you blue or red? As you probably know, we are football mad here in Manchester! On one side of the city you will find Old Trafford, home of ‘The Red Devils’, Manchester United.Whilst ‘The Sky Blues’, Manchester City, play at the Etihad Stadium. If you live in X1 The Plaza and you are a City fan – you’re in luck! We have balcony apartments with views of the stadium. If you’re a United fan however, get yourself to X1 The Gateway for views of Old Trafford. Both are a must-visit for all avid sports fans.
